Ivan Harold Thompson II was born on June 9, 1977, to Ivan Harold Thompson, Sr. and Paulette Marie (Jackson) Thompson. He transitioned to eternity on October 25, 2025.
A graduate of Naaman Forest High School, Class of 1995, Ivan was known for his infectious humor, clever wit, and his unwavering love for family and friends. After high school, he began a rewarding career at GTE/Verizon, where he had the privilege of working alongside his beloved mother for several years. Throughout his professional life, Ivan was admired by his friends and co-workers for his rock-solid nature, and he was always ready with a smile or a laugh.
A lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast, Ivan played Little League Baseball and Football from Pee Wee League through high school. His competitive spirit and love of teamwork never faded, and he remained an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Faith was a cornerstone of Ivan’s life. He found solitude and strength in prayer. Ivan had a gift for finding good in every situation. He loved scary movies, despite being easily scared himself. Family gatherings, time with his sons and friends, and shared laughs were among his greatest joys. His humor and love for life left an unforgettable impression on everyone who knew him.
Ivan was preceded in death by his oldest son, Anthony Jeremiah Thompson; his mother, Paulette Marie Thompson; his grandfather, Willie Harold Thompson; and his grandmothers, Bennie Pearl Sample and Ruthie Thompson Lowe.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include his beloved father, Ivan Harold Thompson, Sr.; his sons, Ivan Harold Thompson III and Evan Thompson; his sisters, ChaRhonda and Renea; and a dear host of nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and close friends who will miss him dearly.
Ivan’s legacy will live on through the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the faith that guided him every day.
