Jacqueline (Johnson) Patton, 68, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025. Born on September 2, 1956, in Newton, Mississippi, Jacqueline was the daughter of Minne Ruth Porter and Miles Johnson.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jacqueline spent her life caring for her family and nurturing those around her. She graduated from Southern University A&M with a bachelor's degree in computer science and dedicated over 30 years to IT support, monitoring, maintaining IT systems, and supporting network infrastructures.
Jacqueline found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved attending church, planning family get-togethers, and watching The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, which she loved to discuss with her sisters. She took pride in cooking her husband's favorite meals. A lifelong plant enthusiast, passionate baker, loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, and enthusiastic traveler, she especially enjoyed cruises and exploring new places. Last year, she embarked on a 31-day cruise that took her from Australia to Japan, then to Alaska, Guam, and finally Seattle, a trip she considered the adventure of a lifetime. Her love for life, infectious laughter, and warm heart will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Larry Patton; her children, Tyara Patton and Monique Offord (Travez); her siblings - Miles Johnson, Fern Hamilton (John), Keith Johnson (Alice), Paula Johnson, Kimberley Johnson, and Renard Thames; her mother, Minne Ruth Porter; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Jacqueline’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication will continue to inspire.
