James Easley Obituary

Mr. James Charles Easley was born to Altha Lee and Charles Edward Easley on July 13, 1952, in Gilmer, Texas. James attended primary and secondary school in Gilmer and graduated from Bruce High School. James later attended Kilgore College and earned his certification as an electrician. James spent 34 years working for Upshur Rural Electric Company in Gilmer before retiring.

James had six children: Dr. Shenequa (Cook) Miller, Jamerson Easley, Jason Easley, Sharlisia “Terrell” (Easley) Moore, Joshua “Cole” Easley, and Victoria “Tori” Easley. All whom he loved very much.

James was a very handsome man and enjoyed his time with the ladies (everyone should be smiling or laughing right now). He had charm, kindness, genuine care for others, and a slight mean streak that would reach “out and touch ya” on an as-needed basis. James was also a lover of Jesus Christ and had a relationship with God that could be seen by all that knew him.
James was also a very prideful man and created a legacy of living a life for Christ, being a hard worker on and off the job, as well as a servant leader. His legacy exemplifies learning to forgive, putting the needs of others before his own, and taking care of his family and friends. His legacy illustrates to forgive and still live; no matter the cost of time, pain, or suffering of oneself. Such characteristics are instilled within his children and grandchildren. Notice forgive is listed twice, as he became an outstanding model for forgiving others.

James never met a stranger and used his charm and smile to connect, quickly share the word of God, and to invite you to church on Sunday at All Nations Fellowship! James loved his church and his Pastor very much. James also loved his parents, brothers, sisters, and countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews as well. James would do anything for his family without a blink of an eye, especially for his 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild! James was the BEST father and grandfather!!

James is survived by his children (listed above), their spouses: Reginald Miller Sr. (husband of Dr. Shenequa Miller), Corey Moore (husband of Sharlisia “Terrell” (Easley) Moore), and Chenerica Easley (wife of Jason Easley). Siblings: Jeanie, Alton, Janice, Pearl, Richard, Tiney, Alex, Ann, and Anthony (Bo). James was preceded in death by his parents: Altha Lee and Charles Edward Easley, and his brother George Edward Easley.
