James Allan Morris, 63, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born in Suffern, NY and was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Liberty University. He spent the majority of his life in New York before heading down South to Wylie, Texas in 2015.
Jim was a beloved husband, a dad, a grandpa, an uncle, and a brother. He was passionate, thoughtful, and fiercely loyal to the things he believed in. He loved God, his family, and Texas - a literal example of the famous saying “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.” He loved his cowboy hat. And his boots.
Jim spent decades of his life working in social work as a unit administrator serving foster and at-risk youth. He was hard working, selfless, and known for his compassion – impacting countless young lives and sticking beside the people who needed him most and not giving up on them.
He will be remembered by those who loved him for his incredible generosity, his storytelling and vast knowledge of family history, for having the most perfect Christmas tree every year, and for that excited, stubborn gleam in his eye when he stumbled into a hot debate with someone.
He will be missed for his epic family reunions over the years, and the joy and laughter that resulted from one of his favorite hobbies - bantering with his little brothers.
Jim was the son of James and Lorraine Morris, and is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Araceli, and his brothers, Rob and Gary, and their wives and children. He also leaves behind a beautiful legacy of eighteen children – Alex, Andrew, Aramis, Ashanti, Benjamin, Daniel, Daniel (predeceased), Darren, Eric, Herman, Isaiah, John, Kimberly, Lewis, Patty, Russell, Timothy, and Vernon - and 20 grandchildren.
