James Edward Terrell was born on January 30, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the parentage of James Lejay and Ethel Mae Terrell. He transitioned to eternity on September 21, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
James graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1977. He later attended Caddo Career Center where he received his certification in Auto Body Paint and Repair in 1979. In his early years, he was employed by Paintings by Hawkins, Valley Steel Products, and Aspen Chase Apartments. He enjoyed a career at Sweetwater Ranch Apartments until his retirement in 2008.
Affectionately regarded as "Ed" and “Edward”, he delighted in woodworking projects to include house painting and refurbishing furniture.
James was caring, loyal, kind, patient, creative, and courteous. He was well-loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
James was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Toni Wesley; parents, James and Ethel Mae LeJay; sister, Susan LeJay; brothers, Billy C. LeJay and Larry LeJay; and nephew, Jay Dexter Elia.
Those left to cherish memories include his son, Jeremy Wesley-Terrell (Deshanna); grandson, Jeremiah Karter Battles-Wesley; granddaughter, Kolandria (KoKo) Battles-Wesley; brother, Tony LeJay; sisters, Leslie Terrell and Sharon Terrell; aunt, Diris Davis (Rufus); cousins - Evelyn Harvey (Reagan), Bonita Carthen, and Jimmy Terrell (Jean); nieces, Keri Terrell and W. Christine Howard-Padilla; nephews - James Dean Terrell, Larry LeJay, Jr. (Paula), Lawrence L. LeJay, and LaTrell LeJay; grandnephews - Jaxon Kole Terrell, Dean Christopher Terrell, Jaden Michael Terrell, and Elijah King Elia; grandnieces, Dashandria Howard-Crockett and Jayda Howard-Crockett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
