John Earl White was born on April 10, 1933, in Clearwater, Florida. Surrounded by his loving family, he transitioned on January 18, 2018, in Garland, Texas, at age 84.
John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1953 and was honorably discharged in July of 1955. He enjoyed a career of many years working in engineering and manufacturing. He worked for Texas Instruments and LTV and also owned Sunline Industries Manufacturing Company. Among many hobbies and interests, John participated in the Garland Emergency Corps where he worked alongside the Garland Police Department, Garland Fire Department, and Dallas County Sheriff Department along with other local agencies. He was a member of the American Legion in Florida. Affectionately regarded as "Grampy" by his grandchildren, John also enjoyed archeology and excavating Indian mounds, camping and writing short stories. John was
John was predeceased by his parents, Earl G. White and Emma Adeline Bond; and his brother, Robert White. Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Louise White; daughter, Debrah Tawney; daughter, Mary L. Gipson and her husband, Raymond Scott; son, Richard John White; three grandchildren: Mike Gipson, Catherine Tawney, and Angie Hix; and three great-grandchildren: Cooper Gipson, Troy Woodson, and Tyler Woodson.
