Obituary

John Cameron Lee was born on October 21, 1975, to Richard Wilson Lee and Karen Margaret Elrod in Irving, Texas. Leaving behind many who are deeply saddened by his unforeseen passing, John passed away suddenly on July 14, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He graduated from Granbury High School in 1994 and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and Tarleton College. He earned his Associate Degree in 2003 and enlisted in the United States Army. Serving his country with great pride and honor, John was honorably discharged in 2006. He delighted in a longtime career in telecommunications and was an electrician's apprentice.

He met the love of his life, Erin Denise Turner, and the two married in October 2018. John and Erin loved and nurtured two adorable sons and remained united in matrimony until his passing.

Affectionately regarded as "John M.F. Lee" to those who knew him well, John was a compassionate man who loved his family. Outside of work, he kept busy at home and in church. He loved talking politics and watching police officer audits. He researched constitutional rights and case laws on constitutional infringements. In addition to being an avid gun collector, John delighted in being outdoors where he loved camping, hunting, fishing, working on his motorcycle, and many other outdoor activities. He also volunteered at Tom Bean baseball games and his church, and he took pride in being a farmer badass.

John grew up in the Church of Christ, so he settled his family at the Whitewright Church of Christ where he started a men's bible study that gathered one Saturday monthly. John was a man that was direct and would get straight to the point; but he was also friendly and a compassionate and helpful friend, dad, and husband. When he saw a need, he would lend support in any way he could.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Elrod, and his father, Richard Lee. Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Erin Turner-Lee; three sons; mother and stepfather, Karen and Dennis Hopkins; grandmother, Evelyn Elrod; sister, Jennifer Pemberton (Brook); brother, Benjamin Lee; nieces, Breanna Spencer (Wesley) and Evelyn Spencer; and a host of other relatives and beloved friends.
