Obituary

Joseph Peter Jakubowski II was born on January 9, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois. He transitioned to eternity on June 30, 2021, in Richardson, Texas.

Affectionately regarded as ”Jake”, Joseph graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1967. He went on to attend Illinois State University where he received his bachelor's degree in Mathematics. He later matriculated to the University of Southern California where he received his master’s degree in Information Systems. Joseph enlisted in the United States Armed Forces in which he proudly served his country in the US Air Force for four years and the US Army for 16 years. In 1995, after 20 years of dedicated service, he retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC).

Among many hobbies, Joseph loved reading, traveling, ballroom dancing, motorcycling, music, tai chi, joking, collecting swords and guns, and giving his sister, Annette, a hard time. He also delighted in the practice of Reiki, a Japanese form of alternative medicine.  

Joseph was a faithful member of the Masons, Elks, and the Patriot Guard. He truly enjoyed being a Patriot Guard Rider.

Joseph previously married Eilleen Galuska Jakubowski and Patricia Jakubowski. Two children were born from these unions. He later married Pamela Anderson Jakubowski on September 4, 2004. The two remained united in matrimony until his transition.

Joseph will be fondly remembered for his fun, devoted, patriotic, witty, and caring nature. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Galuska Jakubowski; mother, Geraldine Doria; father, Joseph Peter Jakubowski, Sr.; and son, Che' Pickens, Sr.

Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Pamela Jakubowski; sons - Brian Jakubowski (Dale), Sean Pickens (Heather), Jason Anderson (Cynthia), and Anthony Branch, Jr.; daughters, Candi Haston (Rusty), Jennifer Rubio (Arcelio), and Laurice Branch; sister, Annette Woloszyn (Guy); grandchildren - Lauren Bibbs (Aaron), Ian Haston, Evian Anderson, Zoe Pickens, Che’ Pickens, Jr., Sasha Pickens, Tavaris Pickens, Hunter Redman, Ivey Redman, Taijah Pickens, Tatiana Pickens, Jalen Pickens, JaJuan Pickens, and Keanna Anderson; special friend, Torie Glover, RN that he loved like a daughter; and a host of other grandsons, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, and fraternal relationships.
