Joseph Wilbert "Webb" Ball was born on September 21, 1932, to David John Ball and Mina Smith, in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away on December 19, 2022, in Garland, Texas.
Joseph graduated from DuBois High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1950 until he was honorably discharged. He enjoyed a longtime career in retail management and retired in 1988 after many years of service.
Affectionately regarded as “Webb”, Joseph married the love of his life, Lynn D. Heitzenrater, on March 2, 1953. To this union, four children were loved and nurtured. The two remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.
Joseph began his Christian walk at an early age. An avid community supporter, he served as President of the 3rd Infantry Scholarship Foundation, President of the Audie Murphy 3rd Infantry Division in Texas, and an Ambassador of Peace between the United States and Korea.
Among many hobbies, Joseph loved his family. He was dedicated to his wife of 69 years, children, grandchildren, and his country. He will be fondly remembered for his witty, generous, ethical, and intelligent nature. A man of high morals, his kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, David John Ball and Mina Smith Ball; son, David John Ball; brother, William Ball; and grandson, Justin David Valle.
