Justin Dinka Obituary

Justin Ndum Dinka was born on July 30, 1960, to Leo Fongum and Mary Ongonwi Dinka in Bamenda, Cameroon. He passed away on October 11, 2021, in Denton, Texas.

Justin graduated from Bamenda High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he matriculated at Bishop College. He enjoyed a longtime career as a General Manager in the service industry. Justin experienced great success at his previous employer, JIB Incorporated, and was the recipient of several prestigious awards, trophies, and trips. His leadership skills also allowed him to be an influential mentor in all his career paths. Justin thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with new people. He continued to work and serve his community until his transition.

Justin loved soccer. He watched every World Cup and collected his beloved country’s (Cameroon) World Cup games. His love and passion for the game spilled over into two of his three children. Both went on to play at the collegiate level. His joy of watching football spilled over into his youngest child who also went on to play at the collegiate level.

He was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. He prayed and gave thanks daily. Although he never became a member of the church, he attended weekly service and prayer at Saint Monica Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. He was never without a bible and his rosary.

Justin was not a part of any organizations but made it a priority to take care of family and strangers alike. He made many contributions to those that crossed his path. Justin will be fondly remembered for his adventurous, ambitious, generous, witty, and friendly nature. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Fongum and Mary Ongonwi Dinka. Those left to cherish precious memories include his children – Eric Dinka, Justin Dinka, and Dominique Dinka; sisters - Patrice Dinka, Catherine Dinka, Gladys Dinka, and Felicia Dinka; brothers, Joe Dinka and Valentine Dinka; co-workers past and present; his dear friend, Collette, and her family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
