Karen Renee Powell was born on June 17, 1968, in Monroe, Louisiana. She transitioned to eternity on March 11, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.

Karen graduated from Richwood High School in Monroe, Louisiana. She attended Grambling University and enjoyed a longtime career as a cook in various industries, including healthcare.

Karen relocated to Texas while her daughters were young. She wanted them to be exposed to a better life and opportunity for success. She enjoyed many hobbies, including reading and cooking, but she most enjoyed spending time with family.

Affectionately regarded as "Stuff", Karen's admirable work ethic and resilience, as well as her funny, sweet, and caring nature will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Powell and Annie Mae Latham Powell. Those left to cherish precious memories include her daughter, Jamessia Letcher (Anthony); daughter, Tiara Powell; brothers: Chris Powell (Iris), Earl Powell (Valerie), and Kelvin Powell; sisters: Lisa Powell, Lori Powell, Denise Powell, Gretta Powell, and Carolyn Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
