Katie Booker Obituary

Katie Mae Booker was born on August 6, 1962, in Grenada, Mississippi. Katie transitioned to eternity with her Lord on June 6, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was a woman of faith, devotion, and joy.

A proud graduate of Grenada High School, Katie devoted over 25 years to a career in Food Service Management, where her dedication, strong work ethic, and kind heart impacted all who worked with her. However, her greatest role in life was as a mother, grandmother, and pillar of strength to her family and community.

As a young person, Katie confessed Christ as her Lord and attended Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Grenada. Katie was a nurturing figure who exemplified resilience and grace. Even in the face of chronic illness, she did not let her struggles define her. Her faith in God and her deep love for her family sustained her, and she remained a bright light for all who knew her. She played a nurturing role as a mother and grandmother, guiding her children and loved ones with wisdom, patience, and love. Katie’s teachings and the example she set will continue to influence and inspire future generations.

Known for her youthful spirit, Katie loved to dance, sing, and immerse herself in music and flowers. She had an energy and joy that made her a source of comfort and inspiration to all. Her favorite quote, “Young hearts run free,” perfectly captured her zest for life. Whether she was hosting family gatherings, preparing delicious meals, or sharing a laugh with friends, Katie’s home was always a place of warmth, love, and welcome.

Katie was a woman of many remarkable qualities. Her legacy of love and kindness continues to be cherished by her family and friends. Though she has gone to be with the Lord, she leaves behind a treasure of memories that will continue to inspire and guide all those who were fortunate to know her.

Katie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Booker; her mother, Pearlie Mae (Brock) Booker; and her nephew, Terrance Bush.

Those left to cherish lasting memories include her children, Martineek Booker-Johnson (Charles), Amanda Booker, and Whitney Booker (Kevin Miller); her grandchildren, Nacoria Harrell, Zaria Johnson, and Kamal Hurd; her siblings, Dorothy Beasley, Mattie Bush, Brenda Booker, Robert Booker, William Booker, and Kimberly Booker; her nieces and nephews, Jackie, N’Keisha, Veleisha, Derrick, Shawanda, Terrell, Allison, Jeremiah, Marquiette, Jaelin, and Gary; and a host of cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Katie Mae Booker’s legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience—qualities that will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and loved ones.
