Kelly Michelle Cawthon Williams, 50, joined our Heavenly Father peacefully in her sleep, lying next to her sister on November 29, 2022, in her home surrounded by love. She bravely fought the good fight for over six years, armed with her quick wit and one-of-a-kind sense of humor until the end.
Kelly was born September 27, 1972, in Riverside, California, to Joseph Porter Cawthon III and Carla Jean Cawthon. In 1990 Kelly Graduated from North Garland High School. Kelly gained employment as a Vendor Management Coordinator for DAVACO. A profession in which her natural talents and personality could truly excel. Kelly was extremely proud of being awarded Employee of the Year in 2022.
Kelly truly lived life to the fullest and in the moment. She had an uncanny knack to reach people in a deep and meaningful way, through listening and her humor. Kelly gained strength from the amazing daily care provided by her devoted mother and father. She would light up with joy from the frequent visits, outings, and spending time with her Mother, Father, Sister (Amy Elizabeth Cawthon Mashburn), Brother (Brian Mark Cawthon), Sister-in-law (Ashley Lepard Cawthon), her beloved and “Favorite” niece and nephew (Bristol and Boone), Auntie Paula Cawthon, Aunt Donna Fields, cherished cousins Tiffany Meiers and family (Stephen, Matthew, and Jonathan), Lisa Cheek and family (Jamie, Lulu, Henry and Owen) and dedicated friends Amy Lee Cutts Brimer, Bekah Wilson, and Gina Johnson. Kelly loved her Uncle Mark Cawthon, Aunt Ann Cawthon, cousin Matt Cawthon and wife Ashlyn, cousin Jeff Fields and family (Taylor, Maude and Mabel). Kelly had many special people in her life including friends from High School, the “internets”, incredible neighbors, extended family, and family friends.
Kelly was proceeded in death by her loving Grandpa (Joseph Porter Cawthon) and Grandma (Jane Elizabeth Cawthon). Her adorable Nanee (Lena Coco Stricklin), her grandfather (John Oscar Woodard Jr), and her uncle (David Fields).
Kelly will be remembered for her tremendous love of dogs (especially Schnauzers, but really any dog with a beard, ok most dogs!). But most of all the unbridled joy Kelly had for her puppy Olive (DooDoo) and the Schnauzers that preceded her and will be waiting for her; Mowser, Gretchen, Max, and Griffin.
Kelly always expressed gratitude for her work family and friends at DAVACO for being amazing, flexible, thoughtful, and understanding throughout her employment. Last but not least, Kelly’s entire healthcare team at UTSW Medical Center for continuously providing the best and most loving care we have ever witnessed, and for extending Kelly’s quality of life to the very end. Especially her oncologist, Dr. Dawn Klemow (who inspired Kelly’s T-shirt “MY ONCOLOGIST DOES MY HAIR”), palliative care physician, Caitlin Siropaides, and Tamara, RN.
Our Beloved Kelly...she touched and changed us all, each and every one.
