Kennedy "Ken" E. Gbenedio was born in Warri, Nigeria, and moved to Dayton, Ohio, at age 2. He graduated from Central State University in 1996, where he earned a Student Recognition Award for outstanding scholastic achievement.
During his time at CSU, he was also named "Mr. College Business" and made the Dayton Daily News. His parents and uncle were also proud alumni of CSU.
Ken worked at companies like Motorola, Amoco, Prime America, and Chase Bank. He was a man of God and an active member of Trinity Church Conexion Latina, where he served as a minister, coach, and in prison ministry. Ken had a passion for reading books on self-empowerment and spiritual growth.
He is survived by his wife, Margot Riquel; his son Kennedy J. Gbenedio and 3 step sons; his father, Dr. Pender O. Gbenedio; his brother, Michael G. St. Augustine, Pharm.D; and his sister, Ufuoma G. Omosebi, Ph.D. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dr. Mary U. Gbenedio, Ed.D; and his brother, Dafe Gbenedio.
Ken will be remembered for his strong faith, leadership, and the deep love he had for his family and community.
