Kimberly Lewis-Coleman Obituary

Kimberly Denise Lewis-Coleman was born on November 1, 1960, to Dorothy Exel (Davis) Turner and Billy Lewis in Dallas, Texas. She transitioned to eternity at 2:02 a.m. on September 15, 2025, in McKinney, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer and complications created by pneumonia.

Upon completing her education, Kim went on to master several professional careers, her last being the quality control manager of a new department that she created and organized. She successfully managed this department until her health forced her to retire.

She married the love of her life, Amondo Coleman, on April 12, 2006. Anyone who knew Kim knew they were very close and loved to spend time together more than anything else. They both faithfully attended Throckmorton Church of Christ in McKinney, Texas, as long as her health allowed.

Enjoying many hobbies, Kim loved trying new things. She was adept at interior design and always created crafts that were unique and beautiful. She loved traveling and was always ready to go to the beach if she could. She especially enjoyed fishing with her husband, and many times you would find them at a lake somewhere, along with her bonus daughter, Brionna, and their beloved dog, Blue. She loved boating and had her own boat, courtesy of her husband. She was fun-loving and always prepared to spend time with family and friends, always on her terms. Her family respected that because she was always honest. Her family loved that about her.

"Kimmy," as she was sometimes affectionately referred to by her best friend of over 40 years, Gwendolyn, has left a huge void in the lives of all who knew and loved her... a void that can never be filled. She loved life, and as Gwen would say, she lived it with dedication, determination, style, elegance, and pride.

Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Exel (Davis) Turner; her bonus stepfather, Gene Turner; and her uncle, Andrew Davis.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 18 1/2 years, Amondo Coleman; her bonus daughter, Brionna Coleman; her father, Billy Lewis; her bonus mother, Lee Lewis; her sister, Jowanda Hughes; her brother-in-law, Robert Hughes; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her tremendously.
