Latasha Nicole (Maxwell) Smith was born on September 24, 1979, to Anthony and Tina Maxwell at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She peacefully departed her earthly home in Aubrey, Texas, on January 29, 2026, to be with the Lord.
Latasha was a 1998 graduate of McKinney High School and later attended Dallas Baptist University. She devoted more than 20 years of service to the medical field, where she was known for her compassion and dedication. Most recently, she was employed with US Oncology Network as a Patient Benefits Representative.
Family was at the heart of Latasha’s life. She deeply cherished time spent with loved ones, especially when cooking and trying out new recipes. Bringing people together was one of her greatest joys.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frances Louise and Leonard L. Maxwell; her maternal grandparents, Mary Ellen and Maurice Raymond Wilkins; and her brother, Laurell Maxwell, Sr.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include her devoted husband, Khevin Smith; her beloved son, Joshua Harris; her stepchildren, Khelli Smith, Khevin Smith, Jr., and Xavier Smith; her treasured grandbaby, Alijia Smith; and her parents, Anthony and Tina Maxwell. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Latasha will be remembered for her loving spirit, strong devotion to family, and the care she showed to everyone she encountered.
