Leamon Lee Lucas Jr. was born on June 1, 1978. Known by many names throughout his life—including Lee, Big Lee, Luke, King Lee, and affectionately Jr. by his family—Leamon was a man whose strength, determination, adventurous spirit, and love for life left an unforgettable impression on those who knew him.
Leamon attended Jefferson High School and later earned his GED in 1999. Throughout his life, he was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and an eagerness to create opportunities for himself. He ventured into numerous businesses over the years, including owning a limousine service and a lawn service, among several other business endeavors. For Leamon, there always seemed to be another idea to explore, another business to consider, or another opportunity waiting around the corner.
Leamon was also employed by Estwing Manufacturing Company, where he worked until the time of his diagnosis. Whether working for a company or building something of his own, he possessed a natural drive to keep moving forward.
Adventure was a part of who Leamon was. He loved to travel and experienced many places throughout the United States and around the world. He never needed much convincing to get into a car, hit the highway, and see where the road would take him. He also appreciated one of life’s simple pleasures—a good meal. Traveling, eating well, exploring new places, and dreaming about his next business venture were all things that brought him joy.
Leamon never married and had no children of his own, but his family remained an important part of his life. In September 2021, Leamon rededicated his life to God, marking an important chapter in his personal and spiritual journey.
Those who knew Leamon could describe him in many ways, but five words capture so much of the man he was: strong, loving, determined, adventurous, and a go-getter. He faced life with a strength that became especially evident during the most challenging years of his journey.
Leamon leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Leamon Lee Lucas Sr. and Leola Marie Lucas; his three sisters, Angela Lucas, JoAnn Woods (Ricky), and Erikia Lucas; three nephews; six nieces; and a host of family members, loved ones, and friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
The family also extends heartfelt appreciation to all of Leamon’s friends for the friendship, love, care, and support they shared with him throughout his life.
Leamon Lee Lucas Jr. lived as a dreamer, an entrepreneur, a traveler, a brother, a son, an uncle, and a man who continued to push forward. His journey took him down many roads, both literally and figuratively, and those who loved him will carry the memories of Lee, Big Lee, Luke, King Lee, and Junior with them always.
His life was his own adventure—and what an adventure it was.
