Linda Kaye (Caldwell) Polk was born on October 23, 1952, to Joe A. Caldwell and Lela Pearl McConic, in Waxahachie, Texas. She transitioned to eternity on December 19, 2022, in Richardson, Texas.
Linda graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1971. She received her Associate Degree in 1972. She later received her certificate from Court Reporting School. She enjoyed a longtime career in the finance, healthcare, and business industries until she retired in 2005.
Affectionately regarded as “Lynn”, Linda married the love of her life, James Wesley Polk, on August 28, 1971. To this union, two children were loved and nurtured. The two remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.
Linda began her Christian walk at an early age. She was a former member of New Greater Memorial Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Kelly Austin. She later united with Abundant Life Church in Garland, Texas, under the leadership of Senior Pastors Glynn and Carolyn Davis.
Among many hobbies, Linda loved shopping, singing, going to the movies, and crafts. She will be fondly remembered for her caring, compassionate, devoted, and dependable nature. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joe A. Caldwell and Lela Pearl Caldwell; husband, James Wesley Polk; four sisters; and three brothers.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her children, Collette Polk and Brian Polk; grandchildren, Aaron Branch and Avery Valentine; great-grandchildren, AJ Branch and Ayden Valentine; one brother, and a host of sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, other relatives, and special friends who loved her dearly.
