Lisa Rush Obituary

Lisa Ann (Harris) Rush was born on June 2, 1966, in Houston, Texas to the parentage of Andre Harris and Shirley Fletcher. She was a 1983 graduate of James A. Madison High School in Houston, Texas.

Lisa married Christopher Rush of Dallas, Texas on August 13, 1988. When these two hearts united as one, they became a blended family blessed with two sons. Later, to this union a third son was born. She furthered her education and graduated from Richland College in Dallas, Texas in 2006 with an Associate of Applied Science in Management Degree.

Lisa professed her love for Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas where she was baptized. She was a Founding Member of Heavens Journey Fellowship Church in Wylie, Texas in 2010 and served faithfully until her Master’s call. She was steadfast in her service to God and during her membership, Lisa served as leader of dance and marriage ministries. She was also a member of the praise team and youth worker. She was employed by NCO Corp in Plano, Texas, as a project manager, for thirteen years.

Lisa was a warm-hearted individual with a fun disposition and a genuine capacity to show compassion for others. She loved her family beyond measure. She had a quiet strength and was an impressive exemplification of one who trusted God in all circumstances. Lisa’s confirmation of faith was amazing! All who knew and loved her will miss her beautiful spirit. Her interests included praise dancing, traveling, and working with Q-Club Catering.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Andre Harris; stepfather, Roy Waldon; and her parents-in-law, William and Nancy Rush. Those left to cherish precious memories forever include her loving spouse of over thirty-six years, Christopher Rush of Rowlett, Texas; her sons - Carl Harris of Denton, Texas, Christopher Rush II of Aubrey, Texas, and William Rush II of Rowlett, Texas; her granddaughter, Christyana Rush; her grandsons, Jayden Harris and Grayson Rush; her mother, Shirley Waldon of Houston, Texas; her brother, Michael Waldon of Houston, Texas; her sister, Rosalyn Omungo of Georgetown, Texas; her stepbrother, Roy Waldon, Jr. of Houston, Texas; her stepsister, Wanda Charles (Michael) of Houston, Texas; her goddaughters, Taylor Rhone and Makayla Waldon, both of Houston, Texas; her brother-in-law, Rickey Abron (Sevella) of Sulphur Springs, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Pamela Smith (Artiss) of Lancaster, Texas and Alice Stephenson of DeSoto, Texas; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
