Mallori Lavonne Polk was born on March 15, 1961, to Earnest and Ella (Daniels) Polk in Dallas, Texas. She was the third of three children born to this union.
Mallori accepted Christ at an early age at Hamilton Park United Methodist Church. She attended Richardson Public Schools until 1977 and The Greenhill School until she graduated in 1979. From 1979 to 1983, she went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. She and her college roommates became lifelong friends.
After enjoying a career in banking, Mallori continued her career in the retail and collections industries. Her most rewarding job, however, was being a caregiver for her mother for five years until she passed away in 2005.
Mallori was an active member of Hamilton Park UMC even when her health began to decline. After a stroke in 2013, she continued to attend services and volunteer with the youth and women's ministries. She was also a volunteer and mentor at the Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet Elementary School.
Home decorating, fashion, jewelry, cooking, and family were her passions. Mallori often called family and friends to check on their health. She sent greeting cards for all occasions as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Christopher Culpepper. Those left to cherish sweet memories include her sisters, Toni Culpepper (Joseph) and Pamela Polk; brother, Lloyd Vestal (Paulina); niece, Lauren Culpepper; uncle, Gerald Daniels; and a beloved extended family of cousins and long-time friends.
