Mandral Jones Obituary

Mandral Deshaun Jones, the devoted son of Elaine Wilson and Sedrick Jones, was born on July 27, 1976. He was nurtured in the loving arms of his doting mother, father, and extended family, inheriting many lifelong gifts. Surrounded by his wife, mother, and family, he transitioned to his refreshing on May 21, 2026.

He was secure in his relationship with God. As sunset drew near, he reminded his loved ones that he was at peace. He was baptized at an early age at Lakeview Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon moving to Garland, Texas, he became a member of St. Luke Community United Methodist Church. His faith was evident through his Galatians 5:22 “Fruits of the Spirit” countenance of how he treated people with love and compassion.

Mandral graduated from Naaman Forrest High School in Garland and was on the varsity football team. He received an Information Technology Professional Certification at Richland College. He did not have a proclivity to institutional mainstream thinking but had a passion for books. He articulated his worldview in diverse subjects, quoting authors, defending and challenging theories, spoken as an ardent reader. And yet, his wisest life lesson was his unyielding loyalty to family, God’s first institution.

It was his ethos to share his wisdom, always love and be a staunch protector to his siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His most enjoyable times were family gatherings, cooking, playing cards, and playing dominoes; he was also a skilled chess player. Whether he was teaching the game or talking smack, it was a good time to be had. His thoughtfulness sustained a bond that kept him close to his mother. As the first grandchild to his beloved Grandmama DeeDee, he was always nearby and was one of her caregivers.

Mandral was a hardworking man. There was a stint as an IT Technician at Streams. Then he pivoted to his foodie passion, working in the restaurant and food industry. While at Broken Egg, the owner was so impressed with his brisket and added it to their menu. His brisket was the signature high demand item for his catering business. Before the sudden illness, he made customers smile as the Deli Station Manager at Tom Thumb.

He met the love of his life in 2016 and married Tomisha “Meme” Jones on August 12, 2023. His blended family, KyShana Milhem and Kymone Donald, had the good fortune of a loving and protecting father. And don’t leave out the fur babies, where he inherited the love of dogs from his mother.

All who know and loved him have warm memories to hold dear. Mandral will be deeply missed for the light and love that he shared. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Eudora Wilson; his uncle, Michael Wilson; and his aunt, Ruby Lee Bartee. Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Tomisha Renee Jones; his mother, Elaine Wilson; his father, Sedrick Jones; his mother-in-love, Lori Jones; his grandmother, affectionately known as "Grandmama DeeDee", Delores Elder Jones; his siblings, Radiance Jones, Saeed Jones, and Sedrick Gabron Jones; his aunts, Tedra Hicks (Marshal) and Pearl Fisher; his uncles, James “Rickey” Wilson and Donald Dorsey; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and endeared friends.
