Marcalon Ja’Vunta Nigbe Roden was born on January 2, 2001, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He transitioned to eternity on October 4, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
Affectionately regarded as “Mar.Kay.Lin”, Marcalon graduated from Crossroads Academy in 2018 and went on to enjoy a career as a forklift driver.
Among many hobbies, Marcalon enjoyed creating music, making money, and spending time with family and friends. Marcalon will be fondly remembered for his caring, generous, poetic, and goofy nature. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marcalon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Easter Lois Tidwell-Harris; grandfather, Kerry S. Roden; great-grandfathers, John Roden and Fostene Quarles; great-grandmother, Madam Luvenia Roden; and uncles, Terrance Roden and Billy Ray Bradley.
Those left to cherish precious memories include his parents, Keoka Harris (Michael) and Derrick Harris (Nichole); sisters - Ke’Mari Roden, Shawntica Roden, Na’Keisha Harris, and Ka’Brelle Stulgate; grandmothers, Chorolette Defroe and Catherine Booker; great-grandmother, Christene Quarles, sisters and brothers-in-love – Em’Ryih Cheeks, Simone Williams, Brandon Masters, Jr., Dennis Weems, Ashley Santiago, Octavia Brooks, and Chelse Brooks; nieces and nephews – Milani Roden, Summer Weems, Alayah Floyd, Aubrey Morrison, Aiyanna Hillard, Ma’Kaio Roden, Kai’Jhai Harris, Nicholas Brooks, Kylan Floyd, Marvell Hillard, and Maxton Hillard; aunts - Shaiell Kennard (D’Ansley), Angela Booker, Esperanzia Williams, and Alexis Booker; uncles - Darnell Morton, Kerry Scholes, Paul Booker (Nita), Irish Booker, Garry Harris, Jerry Harris, Shawn Watson, and Keith Smith; and a host of countless great uncles, great aunts, cousins, and friends.
