Mary Ann Billingsley went home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2024. She was the youngest of six children born to Fred D. Pruitt, Sr. and Synesta (Cox) Pruitt in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on September 27, 1949.
Mary Ann accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She had a mighty calling on her life, and used her many gifts and talents to serve the Lord in numerous ways for many ministries. She was a church musician, choir member, evangelism team member, Sunday School teacher, Women’s Mission Dept leader, licensed minister of the Gospel, prayer warrior, praiser, and worshiper. Mary Ann also obtained both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Theological Studies from Grace Seminary in Dallas, Texas.
Mary Ann served the United States Navy as a civilian employee for 35 years. She retired as the Security Manager at the Southwest Division Naval Engineering Command in San Diego, California. She was highly respected, and received great recognition upon retirement for her outstanding contributions to her employer.
On August 25, 1990, she united in Holy Matrimony with Monroe E. Billingsley. Together they enjoyed life to the fullest. They loved traveling together, serving in the church together, and showing everyone they met what it meant to truly be in love with your soulmate.
Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her amazing smile and infectious laugh always lit up a room. Her energy and zest for life always had her on the go. Even in her golden years she wanted to have fun and enjoy those around her.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Monroe E. Billingsley; her brother Fred D. Pruitt, Jr.; her sisters: Fannie Randolph, Naomi McNair, Jonell Cotton, and Shirley Davis.
Mary Ann leaves to continue her legacy her one and only child, Robynn Moore; her grandchildren: Henry Moore, Jr. and Lauryn Moore; her sister-in-law, Alethea Pruitt; her best friend, Sylvia Boling; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones.
