Mary Luster Obituary

Mary Doris (Boyce) Luster was born on February 2, 1944, in Carthage, Texas. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord on November 19, 2021, in Rowlett, Texas.

Affectionately regarded as “Mary D” and “Bitt”, Mary received her education from Panola County Schools in Carthage, Texas. A woman with a remarkable work ethic, Mary worked as a lead at Varo-Quality Semiconductor in Garland, Texas, before pursuing her dream of owning her own business, “A Twist of Thread”. In 2011, after many years of service, she retired from her career as an entrepreneur and professional seamstress.

Mary married Robert Earl Luster on May 27, 1967. The two loved and nurtured four beautiful daughters and remained united in holy matrimony until her transition.

In her early years, Mary united with Heartline Ministries where she taught Sunday School for many years. She later united with The Springs Fellowship Church where she served as Elder and Bible Teacher.

Among many hobbies, Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, attending church, and spending time with her family. She organized fashion shows and stage plays throughout the DFW Metroplex and traveled the country featuring her boutique, “A Twist of Thread”, across the country.

She will be fondly remembered for her prayerful, classy, caring, giving, and supportive nature. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Jr. and Hattie Mae (Brown) Boyce; parents-in-law, Hurey and Ethel Lee Luster; sister, Dorothy Lee Boyce Hunt (Nathaniel); and brothers, Cleon Boyce and Leon Boyce; brother-in-law, Walter Thomas.
