Mary Ann (Peoples) Moore was born on November 9, 1942, to Landry Ray and Erma (Anderson) Peoples in Dallas, Texas. She transitioned on June 7, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.
Mary graduated from Hamilton Park School where she received her education from 1st through 12th grade. Upon graduation in 1961, she went on to attend Madam C.J. Walker Cosmetology School where she earned her license as a cosmetologist. She enjoyed a longtime career as a hair stylist, serving clients of various races. In addition to being a stylist, she worked as a server in the school cafeteria. To the students, she was well known for her complimentary ice cream.
Mary accepted Christ at a young age under the leadership of Pastor J.W. Rowe at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Garland. There, she was involved in all of the ministries. Among many hobbies, Mary delighted in cooking - everything. She was known for her hot water cornbread and sweet potato pie.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Landry Ray and Erma (Anderson) Peoples; husband, Herman Moore; only child, Craig Lashon Peoples, siblings - Geraldine Galloway, Raylene Starks, Linda Moody, James Peoples, and Donnie Peoples; and her beloved dog, Queenie.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her siblings - Carrie Lewis (Clyde), Helen Peoples, Joyce Peoples, Landry Peoples, Jr., and Donna Green Pate; uncle, Sero Peoples (Helen); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
