Mary Lillian Tyler was born on December 8, 1926, in Manhattan, New York. She transitioned on May 6, 2021, in Wylie, Texas.
In 1942, Mary graduated from Garfield High School in Detroit, Michigan. She later graduated from Wayne State College in 1976 and enjoyed a longtime career in healthcare as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. After many years of dedicated service, Mary retired in 1989.
Affectionately regarded as "Lil", Mary enjoyed reading, sewing, and attending church. She was baptized on August 18, 1948, at St. James Church in Chicago, Illinois. She remained a devout catholic and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Detroit, Michigan.
Mary will be fondly remembered for her spiritual, devoted, classy, fashionable, and lady-like nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Horsley; mother, Louise Thomas; and son, Bill Horsley. Those left to cherish precious memories include her son, David M. Tyler (Victoria); son, Gregory D. Tyler (Sheba); daughter-in-law, Leslie Sabbath; grandchildren - Demetra L. Tyler, April Horsley (Olaf), Robert Horsley, Brianna Tyler, Kellena Martin, and Kamara Martin; great-grandchildren - Bryson Tyler, Victoria Stoffels, and Joseph Stoffels; sister, Olivia Boulden; many cousins; and a host of co-workers, church members, and friends
