Mike has gone to his eternal home with the Lord after much endurance and suffering. We are celebrating and saddened of his departure. He will be greatly missed.
Michael Francis Kochevar was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. He grew up on his parents' farm tending to the land with his dad, that he loved to do.
Mike attended a private Catholic school until his high school years, where then he attended public school. He then went on to Mesa College and Colorado State University to achieve his associate and bachelor’s degrees in animal science and mathematics.
Mike loved carpentry, construction work and remodeling. He also enjoyed teaching, helping people, and outdoors, learning new things. He loved being a husband and father and worked very hard all his life. He was a homeschool Dad and loved teaching his children. He had incredible knowledge of mathematics. One of Mike’s favorite passages of Scripture was Psalm 91 (NKJV), a reflection of his enduring faith and trust in God's protection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Frederick Kochevar and Pauline Kochevar both of Fruita, Colorado; and his siblings, Walter Frederick Kochevar, Jr., and Kathleen Courson.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his devoted wife of 34 years, Annette Kochevar; his children - Brian Michael of The Colony, Texas, Leah Courtney of The Colony, Texas, Andrew David of McKinney, Texas, Jeffrey Donald of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Elizabeth Anne of Fountain, Colorado; his siblings - Paul Kochevar of Bainbridge, Washington, Paula Benson of Grand Junction, Colorado, Linda Kochevar of Fruita, Colorado, and Patty Harris of Grand Junction, Colorado.
