Michelle Dawn Goines

Michelle was born on April 29, 1980, to the parentage of Debra Anne Bradshaw and Marion Walter Vernell Goines, Jr. She attended Black Elementary, Wilbur Middle School, and in 1998 she received her diploma from Wichita Northwest High School in Wichita, Kansas. She went on to attend and graduate from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (Integrated Marketing) with a minor in Women's Studies in 2002.

Michelle worked at Ionex Communication and Dress For Success. She was lovingly known to many as "Mommy Chelle Chelle", "Aunt Chelle Chelle", "Shaywo", and "Michellamos". She was raised up in the Church of God In Christ denomination and later in her life became a member of Power City International Non-Denominational Church. 

She spent her life volunteering her time to help others in need. Whatever she had she gave to others. She blessed others by sharing her time and heart in Dress for Success initiatives, and Battered Women's Shelters.

But she believed her greatest contribution to this world was giving birth to her daughter, Layla Renae. She loved Layla to the moon and back. Michelle also believed the greatest gift she received was the gift of righteousness from believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for her sins.

Michelle was a gifted writer who also loved to read, listen to music, and play many rounds of "rise and fly" dominoes. She was a great partner with a winning team record! She also was a self-taught chef. She enjoyed cooking, eating extravagant foods, and spending time with family. She was simply beautiful inside and out. Her smile was infectious. She was known for her kind loving spirit, sense of humor, wit, and stubbornness. Anyone who met her knew they met a one-of-a-kind, special person. She will be greatly missed.

Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Marion Walter Vernell Goines, Jr.

She leaves behind her daughter, Layla Renae; parents, Albert and Debra Weaver; sisters - Paulette Wright (Stephen), Lynette Pitchlyn (Deano), Renea Goines, Jennifer Videau (Lloyd), Tiffany Ardoin (Nathanial); brothers - Ryan Goines, Simon Goines; eight nieces and nephews; a host of aunts/uncles/cousins; and one grandparent.
