Modupe Rita (Mayuku) Achudume

Modupe Rita Achudume, fondly known as "Mommy Andrea" or “Mommy Yetunde” was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to John and Esther Mayuku, with roots from Warri, Delta State.

After completing her secondary education at Iseyin Grammar School in Oyo, she moved to the United States to join her fiancé (and husband since 1972). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Administration from Clark Atlanta University (then Clark College) before returning to Nigeria to begin a distinguished career at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. While working at the university, she obtained her MBA and held several key positions, including Deputy Registrar to the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Registrar of Student Affairs, mentoring and shaping the lives of thousands of students. Following her retirement, she spent much of her time in the United States of America.

Modupe was defined by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Known for her warm dimpled smile, she constantly offered encouragement, help, and prayers to those in need. She was an active parishioner at the Chapel of Perpetual Light in Ile-Ife and, most recently, All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas.

She is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephew, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Though deeply missed, her family takes comfort in her Christian faith, giving thanks in all things, and knowing she rests in the presence of the Lord, petitioning on behalf of those she loved.
