Muriel Jeanette (Crawford) Wickham

Muriel Jeanette (Crawford) Wickham was born on January 21, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Surrounded by her loving family, she transitioned to eternity on March 29, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. 

Muriel graduated from Ray High School in 1975. She went on to attend Texas A&M University in Kingsville where she joined the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and graduated in 1979. Muriel enjoyed a longtime career at ASI, Promisor, and Fannie Mae. 

Affectionately regarded as "Charity", "Busy Bee", "Miracle Jenkins", "Sissy", "MurJo", and "Auntie", Muriel enjoyed cooking, traveling, HGTV shows, and shopping. She also delighted in gardening, home improvement projects, crafts (DIY), and watching westerns. 

Muriel accepted Christ at a young age and remained faithful to God's church throughout her life. She also remained devoted in service to mankind through her affiliation with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Order of the Eastern Star. She was faithful in feeding the homeless as a volunteer at The Bridge, a recovery center for homeless individuals in Dallas County.

She will be fondly remembered for her compassion, strength, and wit. Her welcoming and affectionate nature will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. 

Muriel was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Howard and Edna Crawford; and her nephew, Fred "Little Fred" Morris, Jr. Those left to cherish precious memories include her daughter, Ashleigh Wickham; daughter, Lauren Bell; mother, Gladys Morris; sister, Laura Henderson (Howard “Rock” Henderson); brother, Fred Morris, Sr.; nieces - Crystal Jones, Paige Morris, Kourtney Morris, Dominique Morris, Mercedes Morris, and Shanika Perkins; nephews - Trey Jones, Lincoln Jones, and Fred McDowell; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
