OC Jackson III was born on June 26, 2001, to OC Jackson Jr. and Sharon Graham Jackson, and his sister, Arnada Jackson. He was loved and nurtured in a loving Christian home.
OC accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at North Garland Baptist Fellowship. Active in the Children’s/Youth Ministry and AWANA, he also attended the Men’s Ministry Sunday School Class. Under the leadership of Bryant Pearson, OC was an active part of the Bowtie Boys organization which shaped boys into responsible young Christian men. He was a spokesman for the Bowtie Boys and had the honor of speaking for them at the N.A.A.C.P meeting. Also during his time with the Bowtie Boys, he had the honor of crossing the Selma Bridge in observance of the 50th anniversary, visiting Little Rock Central High School where many students were denied entry due to the color of their skin, experiencing the MLK Museum in Memphis, and visiting the Lorraine Motel in Memphis where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated.
OC attended Mt. Hebron Christian Academy from a young age until he was eight years old. During that time, he participated in the yearly oratorical contest, walked away with first place, and found his love for public speaking. He participated in numerous speaking engagements throughout the community and later found his love for Tae-Kwon-do in which he received his 3rd-degree black belt. During middle school, OC was a part of the theater program and received an award for being in the top 10% of his class. A 2019 graduate of Garland High School, he was a part of the National Honor Society, Performing Arts Endorsement (P.A.E) Program, and International Bachelorette (I.B.) Theatre Program. He maintained a 3.5 GPA and graduated as an Honor Scholar.
Upon graduating high school, OC joined the U.S. Navy on June 26, 2019. In August 2019, he graduated from boot camp and was briefly stationed in Florida where he received his job assignment as a cryptologist. He later moved to Georgia and was deployed on the USS KEARSARGE, a naval carrier on which they sailed the world only known by the U.S. Navy code. Within the three and a half years OC was there, he was able to rank up and become 2nd Class Petty Officer E-5.
OC transitioned into eternal rest on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Grovetown, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Thelma Graham; paternal grandfather; OC Jackson, Sr.; maternal uncle, Boris Graham; and paternal uncle, Windell "Jimmy" Jackson.
OC will be missed dearly by his loving and caring parents, OC Jackson, Jr. and Sharon Graham Jackson; loving sister, Arnada Synice Marchet Jackson; grandmother, Marine Singleton Jackson of Marshall, Texas; grandfather, Hampton Graham of Keithville, Louisiana; best friend, Forrest Andrew Coleman; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
