Octavia Latrice Brooks was born on February 26, 1993, in Hampton, Virginia. She transitioned to eternity on January 7, 2023, in Richardson, Texas.
Octavia graduated from Horn D. High School in 2011. She went on to graduate from Remington College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2018. She enjoyed a career as a Behavioral Customer Advocate for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
Affectionately regarded as "Tay" and "Tay-Tay", Octavia delighted in spending time with her four children, family, and friends. She took great delight in her hair, nails, lashes, and skin, and being the life of the party.
Among many hobbies, Octavia loved to cook and shop, not only for herself but for her loved ones. She will be fondly remembered for her passionate, determined, and resilient nature. Her love and kind-hearted spirit will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Octavia was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Smith Watson; grandfather, Gillard Smith; uncle, James Thomas Watson; aunt, Candice Brooks; and brother, Marcalon Roden. Those left to cherish precious memories include her parents, Nichole and Derrick Harris, and Kendrick and Adrienne Brooks; children - Nicholas, Alayah, Kylan, and Nyles; siblings - Ashley (Mark), Chelse (Kevin), Nakeisha, Shawntica, KeMari (Qavonte), Jasmine, Tommy, and Tyrhe (Danielle); her children's grandmother, Ms. Etta Floyd; nieces and nephews - Aubrey, Aiyanna, Maxxton, Matéo, Ahsanii, Ka'Jhai, Milani, Ma'Kaio, Brooklyn, Jayden, Jonah, Bèlla, Benazir, Camilla, Isaiah, Julian, Jo'ciyah, Tytus, Jhoel, and Tyrhe II; uncles - Damion Watson, Shawn Watson, Terrance Watson, and Keith Smith; long term partner and friend, Tristan Floyd; sisters and brothers in love - Peyton, Taylor Floyd, and Davon Morrison; friends: Alfonz, Dwaylon, Jeremy, Jasmine, Shay, Mahogany, Tammy, Shameka, and Meosha; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
