Olen Lewis III was born on January 23, 1965, to Olen Lewis, Jr. and Barbara Ann (Reed) Lewis in McKinney, Texas. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2024, in Richardson, Texas.
Olen graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1983. After graduating, he pursued the field of merchandising, becoming a Merchandiser for Target and Dr. Pepper. At the time of his passing, he was a Crossing Guard for Wylie Independent School District.
Olen accepted Christ at a young age, and his faith was unwavering throughout life. A member of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship for more than 20 years, he participated in various ministry and growth opportunities, including the Male Chorus, Nursing Home Ministry, Discipleship Class, and Bible Study.
On October 7, 1995, Olen married the love of his life, Florence “Annette” McCoy. The two loved and nurtured two beautiful children, and they remained united in holy matrimony until his transition.
Among many hobbies, Olen delighted in fishing and spending time with his family and friends. To those closest to him, he was known as “Googoo.” A generous man with the kindest heart, he will be fondly remembered for his funny and friendly nature. His desire to help others was truly admirable, and his loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Olen was preceded in death by his father, Olen Lewis, Jr., and his brother, Paul Bell. Those left to cherish lasting memories include his loving wife, Florence “Annette” Lewis; daughters, Olivia Ann Lewis and Sydney Elease Lewis; his mother, Barbara Lewis; his brothers, Barry Lewis, Sr. (Gay) and Christopher Reed Lewis; his sister, Tennetta Lewis Webster; his mothers-in-law, Obelia McCoy and Elsa McCoy; his sisters-in-law - Sebrena Smith (Chuck), Tara Dennison, and Tanya Dennison; his nephews, Barry Lewis, Jr. (Stephanie), D'omonique Webster, Christopher Reed Lewis, Jr., Christopher Marquis Lewis, Zachary Alexander Lewis, Ryan Christopher Lewis, Jevin Bell, and Frank Tull II; his nieces - Alexea Wright (Ramón), Morgan Lewis, Kristyana Reed Lewis, and Logan Tull; his great-niece and nephew, Railyn Wright and Royal Wright; and a host of other relatives, colleagues, and dear friends.
