Otis Fletcher Obituary

Otis Tyrone Fletcher was born on July 2, 1955, to Theodis and Donzella Fletcher in Marianna, Arkansas. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on December 31, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.

Otis graduated from Lee High School in Marianna, Arkansas in 1974. He went on to attend Phillips County Community College. He later enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for 17 years until his retirement. After retiring from Army, Otis enjoyed a longtime career at American Airlines where he worked for 10 years in the Telecommunications Department.

Affectionately regarded as “OT”, Otis met the love of his life, Teresa Alford, and the two united in holy matrimony on March 30, 1985. The two remained united until his transition.

A servant by nature, Otis was a longtime member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church where he served under the leadership of Dr. R.E. Price, Sr. and later under the leadership of Dr. Tommy L. Brown. Otis served faithfully in the Brotherhood Ministry, Usher Ministry, and Hospitality Ministry. He also sang in the Male Chorus.

He enjoyed watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered for his helpful, kind, resourceful, and caring nature. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Theodis and Donzella Fletcher; and brother, James Herbert Fletcher. Those left to cherish precious memories include loving wife of 36 years, Teresa Fletcher; children - Vanity Johnson, Krystal Coleman, Temesha Fletcher, and Terrell Fletcher; grandchildren - Ya'Mya Fletcher, Ja'Kayla Harris, Cameron Martin, Londyn Johnson, Kaderon Williams, Nakevion Williams, Xzavion Coleman, and Wil'Trevion Stanford; siblings - Maxie Parks, Alfonso Fletcher, Donald Fletcher, Ronald Fletcher, and Evelyn Fletcher-Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
