Patricia Louise (Adams) Thompson

Patricia Louise (Adams) Thompson was born on July 3, 1950, to David Ray and Gearline "Jean" Adams in Garland, Texas. Affectionately known as "Pat", she passed away unexpectedly in the afternoon on February 22, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.

The third of five children, she grew up in quiet Rowlett, Texas, graduating from Garland High School in 1968. She went on to attend Eastfield College for a few semesters. Pat married Wayne Thompson in October 1973, and the couple welcomed their only daughter, Stephanie, to the world the following October.

Starting as a simple clerk with Kraft Foods in August 1968,  Pat later worked in the food service division. She stayed with the company through being spun off and having many name changes. After almost 50 years of dedicated service, Pat retired from US Foods in 2018, having advanced to Inventory Control Manager. Her coworkers valued her as being very persistent in getting to the bottom of issues and being able to identify causes and potential issues that others tended to overlook.

In her spare time over the years, she enjoyed drawing and painting landscapes, sometimes creating those as gifts for friends. She also enjoyed baking, exploring the world of food by cooking, and tinkering with handicrafts like beading and small knitting projects. In retirement, she had picked back up another longtime hobby of playing computer games, living out tropical vacation dreams, virtual gardening, house redecorating, city planning and building, and mystery adventures. She also shared a love of Formula One and other motorsport racing with her daughter.

Pat was preceded in death by both her parents and older brother, David. Those left to cherish fond and lasting memories include her daughter, Stephanie; siblings -Sherrie, Catherine, and Steve; and many loved nieces and nephews.
