Patrick Glen Hansbrough, widely known as Sandman, transitioned on December 6, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Although born in Frankfurt, Germany, on December 3, 1967, Patrick called Compton, California, and Dallas, Texas, home for much of his life.
After graduating from Compton High School, Patrick worked in sales, where his charisma and networking skills left lasting impressions.
A natural storyteller, effortlessly social, and street-smart, Patrick had a rare ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He loved rap music, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and spending quality time with friends and family. Whether joking, sharing a story, or just hanging out, he made every moment memorable.
He was the beloved son of Maggie Hansbrough, who survives him, and David Hansbrough, who went home before him. He is also survived by his brother, Byron Hansbrough; his two daughters, Porscha Johnson and Ashley Hansbrough; and two grandchildren, Uzziyah and Phylicia.
Patrick’s life was beautifully captured in Psalm 73:26: “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Patrick Glen Hansbrough will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who knew him.
