Peter Braggs Obituary

Peter James Braggs was born on February 18, 1946, to James Braggs and Velma Hardy Washington in New Orleans, Louisiana. He transitioned to eternity on October 3, 2022, in McKinney, Texas.

Peter graduated from Lincoln High School in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1964. He graduated from Lamar University in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1968 to 1970 until he was honorably discharged. He went on to enjoy a longtime career in insurance and auto sales. 

Among many hobbies, Peter enjoyed listening to jazz, eating seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, and spending quality time with his sisters and brothers. He will be fondly remembered for his intelligence. His kind spirit will also be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, James Braggs and Velma Hardy Washington; and siblings - Shirley Columbus Gray, Richard Braggs, Sr., and Tommie Braggs.

Those left to cherish precious memories include his son, Kenyatta M. Braggs (Keisha); sister, Barbara Wilson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
