Rene Chavez

Rene Chavez was born in Garland, Texas, on November 17, 1974, to Epimenio Chavez, Jr. and Maria (Dominguez) Chavez. He passed away on March 20, 2025.

Rene graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, Texas. Rene participated in the Special Olympics, where he showcased his talents and determination, making lasting memories and friendships along the way.

Affectionately known as "Reenee", Rene will be fondly remembered for his happy, kind, sweet, and gentle nature. He had a big appetite and a kind-hearted spirit. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rene was preceded in death by his father, Epimenio Chavez, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Epimenio Chavez, Sr. and Julia Chavez; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas Dominguez and Maria Gonzales. Those left to cherish precious memories include his mother, Maria (Dominguez) Chavez; his stepfather, Raul Rico; his siblings - Nyck Chavez (Kimberly), Stella Thomas (Ron), and Jeannie Givens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
