Richard “Chris” Fred Christopherson was born on August 30, 1947, to Fred and Rosa Christopherson in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He passed away on June 2, 2024, in Wylie, Texas. He was 76 years old.
Richard was a loving brother, father, and grandfather, cherished by his family and friends. He is survived by his six brothers and sisters: Juanita, Robert, Michael, Maria, Carol, and Francesca. He leaves behind three devoted sons and two daughters-in-law: Eric and wife Christin, Bryan, and Christopher and wife Katie Christopherson, and six beloved grandchildren: Scarlett, Kennedy, Colby, Keaton, Blake, and Madison Christopherson.
Richard graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Marketing & Finance. He dedicated the majority of his career to the candy industry, serving as a regional sales manager for E. J. Brach & Sons, Farley Foods, and Redstone Foods. His work was marked by his unwavering commitment and passion, making a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike.
In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques and after he retired, he sold antiques at the famous First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas. He also never missed an opportunity to brag about his grandchildren and loved attending as many of their events as possible. He could be found every morning at Starbucks with his coffee buddies who provided much-needed fellowship in his later years.
Richard's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
