Robert Brian Schmidt was born on July 1, 1954, to Dorothy and Karl Haas, Sr. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away on January 14, 2026.
Robert grew up in the Oak Cliff area, often sharing fond memories of living on Tyler Street. Earlier in life, Robert spent 10 years working as a supervisor at Glacier Water Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership.
Robert was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose love for his family was strong and unwavering. He enjoyed building trains, riding motorcycles, and proudly wearing the tattoos that told pieces of his story. Though feisty in spirit, his heart was generous, and he would do anything for the ones he loved. Robert's strength, loyalty, and deep love for family will forever be remembered and dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Karl Haas, Sr.; his sister, Linda; and his brother, Marvin. Those left to cherish lasting memories and continue his legacy include his devoted wife of 54 years, Paula; his son, Erick; his daughter, Robin; his grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Mackenzie, and Allen; his great-grandchildren, Athena, Niko, Harvey, and Isaiah; and his brother, Karl Haas, Jr. He will also be remembered by extended family and special friends whose lives he touched along the way.
Robert's life was one of love, grit, and loyalty, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
