Robert James "RJ" McNeal was born in Honey Grove, Texas on November 21, 1941, to Robert Wesley "Babe" McNeal and Allie Mae Chaffin McNeal. He transitioned to eternity to be with the Lord on June 18, 2020, in Carrollton, Texas.
RJ was the first born of four children. He accepted Christ at a young age and loved the Lord. His first child, a son, was born in 1959. RJ graduated from Pendleton High School in Honey Grove, Texas in 1960. He went on to attend Tyler Barber College where he graduated in 1962.
On March 2, 1964, RJ married Wanda Jones. Three daughters were nurtured and loved to this union. RJ and Wanda were married for over 20 years and remained good friends after they divorced. He later met his long-time companion, Cheryl Taskey, for whom he cared until his transition.
RJ enjoyed a wonderful career at American Airlines in fleet service. After 37 years of dedicated service, he retired. Among many hobbies, RJ had a special love for sports and barbecuing. The Dallas Cowboys was his favorite team; he remained a steadfast fan throughout the good, bad, and ugly years.
RJ was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eddie "Chuck" McNeal; and his son, Anthony McNeal, Sr.
Those left to cherish memories include his three loving children: Yolanda (Hector) Perez, Torres (Dale) Johnson, and Rhonda (Russell) Reddic; nine grandchildren: Raquel McNeal, Anthony McNeal, Jr., Brandon Perez, Christian (Rajee) Jones, Javier Perez, Adrienne Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Brayden Willis, and Grace Reddic; three great-grandchildren: Avianna McNeal, Cameron Jones, and Roman Jones; two siblings, Aneta Johnson and David (Pat) McNeal; his loving companion, Cheryl Taskey, and her son, Ron Taskey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
