Roberto Espiritu Deleon, Jr., affectionately known as "Junior" or "Jun," passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, just one day shy of his 68th birthday, after a courageous battle with stage IV lung cancer.
Born on May 18, 1957, in Manila, Philippines, Roberto’s life was marked by hard work, resilience, and deep devotion to family. After migrating to the United States in pursuit of a better life, he built a remarkable career with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), rising from warehouse clerk to Logistics Manager over the span of more than 30 years. He proudly served his country when he was deployed in Iraq for two and a half years during Operation Iraqi Freedom and retired on June 30, 2012.
On April 23, 1983, he married the love of his life, Victoria Deleon, with whom he built a strong and loving home. Together, they raised three devoted sons—Davin, Cecil, and Roberto “Bobby” III—whom he took immense pride in calling "good men."
Roberto was a Roman Catholic, a social butterfly, and a man who approached life with diligence, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility. Known for his warm personality and work ethic, he found joy in home improvement projects and cooking meals that brought family together. He delighted in sharing stories and laughter, especially when surrounded by loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roberto Sr. and Corazon Deleon; siblings Guillermo, Pablo, and Herminia Deleon; and his parents-in-law, Cecilio and Corazon Navarro.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Victoria Deleon; his sons, Davin Deleon married to Tina Nguyen, Cecil Deleon married to Linh Nguyen, and Bobby Deleon III; his cherished grandson, Joseph Deleon; his siblings - Archangel Deleon Tabilon, Florencia Manalo, and Eduardo Deleon; his siblings-in-law Victor Navarro and Christina Dizon; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss his presence dearly.
Roberto’s life was a testament to the quiet strength of a devoted father, a hardworking provider, and a loving husband. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories he created.
