Roland Johnson, Jr. Biography

Roland Johnson Jr., 75, passed peacefully into the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 13, 2026.

Roland was born on September 28, 1950, in Houston, Texas, where he was raised and lived until 1982. That year, Roland made a career move with Texas Instruments and relocated to the Dallas, Texas, area, where he built a successful career and made his home.

While working with Texas Instruments, Roland continued his education and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from The University of Texas in December 1986. He graduated Cum Laude, a reflection of his intelligence, determination, and commitment to excellence. Roland remained with Texas Instruments throughout his career and retired from the company in 2021.

Roland had many passions and loved staying active. He enjoyed skiing, golf, bowling, tennis, running, and baseball. He proudly followed his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros.

He also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved science-fiction television shows and movies. Above all, Roland cherished spending time with his wife, Sandra. They shared a special relationship that radiated warmth and love to everyone they met.

Those who knew Roland will remember him for his kindness, determination, humor, and love for his family. His family was among the most important things in his life, as were his beloved dogs, who brought him great companionship and joy.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Johnson and Roland Johnson Sr.; his younger sister, Karen; and his first wife, Susan Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson of Rowlett, Texas; his children, Travis Johnson and his partner, Caitlin McCann of New York City, Sarah Johnson of Bend, Oregon, and Sam Johnson of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Janet (Johnson) Toney, and brother-in-law, Hurcey Toney; and his very special friend, Ricky Jones of Rowlett, Texas.

Roland leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, laughter, and lessons that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His determination, kindness, sense of humor, and love for those around him will never be forgotten.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that Roland is now at peace, free from pain and suffering, and has been welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.

Until we meet again, Roland, you will forever be loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
