Roscoe Lefeathe Shelton was born in Kilgore, Texas, on February 9, 1948. He transitioned to eternity on January 28, 2025, in Richardson, Texas.
Roscoe attended North Chapel High School and later attended Jarvis College. He dedicated his career to working as a Warehouse Supervisor at Empire Terminal Warehouse, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Over the years, he received many honors and corporate accomplishments, reflecting his dedication and talent.
On October 18, 1969, Roscoe married the love of his life, Mary Ann Antwine. A faithful Christian, Roscoe lived by his strong values and was actively involved in various Juliette Fowler Committees, always giving back to his community. Roscoe found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to music, playing dominoes, watching westerns, cooking, shooting pool, and enjoying sports, including baseball, basketball, and football. Above all, he cherished visits from his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for his loving and laid-back nature, intelligence, and ability to bring joy to any gathering. He was truly the light of the party, making those around him feel welcomed and appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Shelton and Daisy Lee (Jackson) Shelton, as well as his siblings - Rodger Shelton, Ivester E. Shelton, Jesse Shelton, Verna Ridge, Rosalyn Shelton, Birthenia Dixon, and Adele Shelton. Those left to cherish lasting memories include his daughter, Marilyn Launese (Shelton) Mumphrey (Johnathan); his grandchildren, Landon Cade Mumphrey and Lexie Kayden Mumphrey; his love, Mary Ann (Antwine) McGee; his brother, Jimmy Rae Shelton; his sister, Willie Meredith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
