Obituary

Ruby Faye Crowder Everett was born on March 5, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to the late Clyde Crowder Sr and Flora Crowder as their eighth child. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early and continued in a deep, committed relationship. She graduated from JJ Rhoads High School in 1953. She later met the love of her life, Kenneth Everett Sr, and they would marry in 1953. They would move to North Dallas and raise six boys and one girl.

Ruby, whose nickname became Banny with close friends and relatives, dedicated her life to being a care provider throughout the home, church, and community. The whole family became New Mt. Zion Baptist Church members, and Ruby remained a member until her transition. Ruby was recognized as one of the church's Mothers and will be forever remembered by her church family. Ruby faithfully attended church and Sunday school weekly. She was one of the original Sweetheart Sunday School class members and was truly loved by the entire class. The class has shared some great members, and often got together outside the church.

She enjoyed and loved having her family around her any time she could. Most importantly, she loved caring for and influencing eleven grandchildren and teaching them about Jesus. There was never a time when she was not talking about Love and how we should love one another as Christ loved us. She loved and valued all whom she encountered. Her home was always open, and she was willing to help anyone in need.

Ruby loved cooking for her sons, who thought she was an angel from heaven. Her daughter, Percellia, loved her greatly. Although their taste for clothes was the opposite, they enjoyed shopping together.

She loved to go on evening rides. Her son, Tim, spent many hours taking her on morning, mid-day, and evening rides. After the car rides, you could always find her reclining in her chair, enjoying her favorite country western movies, like Riffle Man, Wagon Train, and Gun Smoke. The rides continued up to the day she transitioned.

Ruby could always be found in her house reading her Bible and sharing the gospel with others. Most of her life was spent caring for the most precious gifts God had given her: seven Children who deeply loved her, and they will miss their weekly talks with Mom.
