Ruby Lee (Lawrence) Worthy was born on June 1, 1934, in Neches, Texas, to Dewitt and Annie Liz (Taylor) Lawrence. She spent her childhood years in Neches and San Antonio, Texas.
In 1948, Ruby moved to Philadelphia, where she attended school and later graduated from William Penn High School in 1956. After graduating from high school, she married Clinton Worthy. Their union was blessed with a son, Leonard Worthy.
In 1983, Ruby and Clinton relocated to Dallas, Texas. The couple became devoted members of Greenville Church of Christ, where she remained a faithful servant. She also loved cooking and baking.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clinton Worthy, and her parents, Dewitt and Annie Liz (Taylor) Lawrence.
Those left to cherish lasting memories include her son, Leonard (Jean); three grandsons, Keary (Atia), Corey (Cintrell), and Cody (Monica); nine great-grandchildren, Jai, Brittney, Ariel, Isaiah, Marquise, Corey Jr., Cody Jr., Kayla, and Keary; and two great-great-grandchildren, Khyree and Messiah.
She also leaves a special nephew, Darrell; a special niece, Rhonda; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
