Ruphina Tuma was born on January 1, 1940, in Cameroon, Africa. She transitioned to eternal rest with her Lord on November 15, 2020, in Abilene, Texas.
Our beloved Ruphina Tuma was born to the parentage of the late Leo and Clara Tumanjong. With a loving and kind spirit, Ruphina had a passion for singing, dancing, and praying. Ruphina also delighted in cooking and farming. She would always grow food in her fields to feed people when they visited her house. Her house was nicked named "The University" because she would welcome more than 50 students into her home. Her generous nature will impact generations for years to come.
Known for her very sharp memory, she could remember days, years, and times of specific events.
A woman of great faith and perseverance, Ruphina was a devoted member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church - Archdiocese of Bamenda.
She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Clara (Zama) Tumanjong; husband of over 60 years, Joseph Tuma; and sister, Anna Ndeaga. Those left to cherish precious memories include three daughters: Matilda Tuma, Priscilla Yousegnuy (Honore'), and Vivian Titatsoh (Nji); five sons: Paul Tuma (Marcelline), Jude Tuma (Matilda), John Tuma, Hillary Tuma (Alvine), and Emmanuel Tuma (Germaine); brothers, Victor Tumanjong and Martin Tumanjong; sisters, Mary Tawah and Odilia Tumanjong; 23 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
