Russell DeAngelo Jefferson, Jr.

Russell DeAngelo Jefferson, Jr. was born on June 11, 2008, to Erica Danielle Williams and Russell DeAngelo Jefferson, Sr. at 11:44 pm in Rockford, Illinois. Affectionately known as "RJ", he was the first boy to this union. Russell was a loving son, grandson, brother, and nephew; but, most of all, he was a friend to everyone he knew.

He was a sophomore at South Garland High School where he was a rising athlete on the Jr. Varsity team as a defensive lineman with hopes of going to the NFL. Russell was a protective big/little brother. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and eating some good ol’ seafood.

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, God needed a special angel and Russell received his wings at Texas Heath Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell DeAngelo Jefferson, Sr.; maternal grandfather, James Jones; uncle, DeAngelo Williams; and great-uncles, Harry James Crayton and Matthew Williams.

Those left to cherish lasting memories include his loving and caring mother, Erica Williams; his sisters - DeAngela, Janiyah, Jaliyah, Jaleis, and Zoriah; his brothers - Ramir, Khalil, Ashton, Royal, Quintin, and Amir; his maternal grandmother, Addie Williams; his paternal grandmother, Aretha Patterson; his maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Blakely; his paternal grandmother, Eddie Brown; his maternal grandfather, James Williams, Sr.; his paternal grandfather, Robert Jefferson (Valerie); his aunts - Trishida Williams, Danielle Clark, Dominique Patterson, Unique Patterson, and Virginia Quattlebaum (Andre); his uncles - James Williams II, Cesar Blakely (Sherissa), Robert Crayton (Charlotte), James Williams III, Robert Jefferson, Rico Jefferson, Rashawn Jefferson, Retavion Jefferson, Christopher Travond, Patrick Patterson (Sandy), and Billy Joe Crayton; his special cousins, Liberty and Detra; his godparents, Jacob and Raven King; and a host of extended family and friends.
