Ruth Elizabeth Puckett (née Yonally) was born on April 18, 1940, in Belleville, Kansas, to Solomon M. Yonally and Mabel O. Burgan. She passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 86. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Ruth leaned on Psalm 23 for strength and comfort throughout her life. Her quiet strength, kindness, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her.
Ruth graduated from high school in Alva, Oklahoma, and went on to study at Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. She worked many jobs throughout her life, but most recently built a long and dedicated career in payroll, working at Fossil from 1990 until 2023.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose gentle spirit and unwavering faith left a lasting legacy. Many people loved Ruth, and she will be missed tremendously. Though she is no longer with us, her faith, love, and beautiful example continue to live on in all who knew and cherished her.
She was preceded in heaven by her parents, Solomon M. Yonally and Mabel O. Burgan; her husbands, Robert E. Shuler and Steve Randy Puckett; and her sons, Joseph A. Gerleman and John W. Gerleman.
Ruth is survived by her children, Karen Mulder, Anne Young, and Michael Puckett; her beloved 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy; and a host of family and friends.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” – Psalm 23
