Sammy Lee Hill was born on January 12, 1953, to Sammy Lee Pierce and Martha (Greenwood) Hill in Royse City, Texas. He was the oldest of eight children. Sammy transitioned to eternity on February 6, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
Sammy attended South Garland High School in Garland, Texas, participating in Future Farmers of America. Upon graduation in 1972, he enlisted in the United States Army and earned the rank of sergeant as a communications officer. Sammy gave his life to Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in his faith. He was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas. He later united with the Revealing of Christ Church (The ROCC) in Dallas, Texas.
Sammy was married to Debra Denise Collins Hill for 24 years until she transitioned in 2005. To this union, three children were born - J. R., Brandi, and Brittanni. He later married Alberta (Tealer) Hill, and the two remained united for five years until his transition.
Sammy was preceded in death by his mother, Martha (Greenwood) Hill, and his first wife, Debra Collins Hill. Those left to cherish lasting memories include his loving and devoted wife, Alberta Hill; his son, JR Hill of Carrollton, Texas; his daughters, Brandy Hill of Georgia and Brittanni (Lipton) Clarke of Florida; his stepsons, Michael Tealer and Marcus Marks; his grandsons - Isaiah Hill, Khalen Moore, Khalil Sykes-Clarke, and Preston Tealer; his granddaughters, Teia Clarke and Brailyn Clarke; his siblings - Charles, Donny (Margaret), Johnny, Deborah, Barbara (Terrance), Dwayne, and Willie (Deb); and a host of other relatives and friends.
